Best Barbecue in Kentucky || Bradford BBQ in Lancaster, Kentucky

If you’re looking for the best barbecue in Kentucky it may seem like a major feat. But we’re pretty confident we did the leg work for you and found the best of the best. It’s in picturesque Lancaster, Kentucky and it’s called Bradford BBQ.

Check this out…

It all started with a food truck in Lexington that turned into large catering gigs for organizations like the University of Kentucky. They decided to open a brick-and-mortar in Lancaster, Kentucky and found the perfect location after searching for a year.

It’s on the site of the Governor Owsley home. It was originally built in the 1800s as the residence of Kentucky’s 16th governor. Owners, Jennifer and Matt, have turned it into the perfect venue space for private parties as well as holiday dinners, murder mystery dinner nights, and traditional teas.

In the near future they’ll be opening Heroes Brewery at Brook Hill with Colby Reik, a local fire fighter and Lincoln County deputy. They’ll have fifteen taps for craft and domestic beers. For now, a sampling of those beers is available at Bradford BBQ, and they pair great with their food.

And the food is what we came for.

We started with a sampling of Bradford’s house smoked meats and their most popular sides.

Our meat platter had their brisket, chicken, pulled pork, ribs, and sausage. It’s nearly impossible to pick a favorite, but that pulled pork was pretty flipping good.

The meat is perfectly smoked, and you don’t get that ash-tray flavor that some smoked meats have.

For the sides we had mac and cheese, potato salad, baked beans, and slaw. Jenni isn’t much of a baked beans gal, but these were exceptional! All of the sides were extra tasty and paired beautifully with the meats.

Y’all know we rarely leave a restaurant without dessert, and Bradford BBQ was no exception. They brought out the holy grail of desserts, y’all!

Red velvet waffles with white chocolate raspberry ice cream.

There are no words that can describe how fantastic this was. Honestly. Just get yourself to Bradford BBQ and try this heavenly dessert!

Bradford BBQ is the kind of place you want to take your family and friends to enjoy some good food and watch the game. Matt and Jennifer have made it feel like an extension of their home, so you’re enveloped with that feeling of comfort.

We loved it.

Thank you to Matt and Jennifer for hosting us! We had a great time and can’t wait to come back.
