Why We'll Still Travel After COVID-19

Easy answer… it’s our passion.

Better answer… it’s our job.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit everyone hard in different ways. It stole some people’s health and wellbeing. It stole some people’s calm. It stole other people’s jobs. For us it was more of a shift.

It shifted our planned trips.

It shifted our content.

It shifted our priorities.

This quarantine gave us time to sit and reflect on our content and confirm once and for all that we wanted to continue making travel and lifestyle content for as long as we can. It also allowed us to connect with some amazing bed and breakfasts that need post-pandemic exposure, which is why we have FIVE trips back-to-back in the coming months.

We’re so excited to get back on the road in less than two weeks and get back to showing off all of the beauty America (and the world) has to offer.

So those are our simple reasons for continued travel after COVID-19. Do you want to know where we’re going? We’d love to share!

JUNE

In June we’ll be tackling three main cities and states: the Helen, Georgia area; Sevierville, Tennessee; and Conover, North Carolina.

On this trip we’re highlighting three INCREDIBLE B&Bs (that we’re keeping under wraps for now) and more than EIGHT local restaurants. Not to mention our super fun partnership with Cracker Barrel that we’ll be sharing along the way.

JULY

In July we’re going back to three of our favorite stops on our grand adventure: Riverview Mansion (Metropolis, Illinois); Fargo Mansion (Lake Mills, Wisconsin); and the Victorian on Main (Fairfield, Illinois). We’re going to be creating more awesome content for these great bed and breakfasts and the towns where they reside.

If you missed the videos we created for them last time, you can check them out here…

AUGUST

In August we’ll be driving from Florida to North Carolina to Pennsylvania and back again. On this trip we’re showcasing three B&Bs, several restaurants, and maybe *wink wink* two amusement parks!

We’re keeping the details of this one very close to the vest just in case we run into another pandemic of sorts. These wonderful places have already been rearranged in our schedule once.

SEPTEMBER

As soon as we come back from our August road trip we have to pack our bags for a different kind of trip… EUROPE! We’ll be going with Viking River Cruise on their Paris to the Swiss Alps itinerary. It’s 15 days traveling from Geneva to Paris, and we’re bursting at the seams.

For this trip we’ll be creating a video dedicated to the Viking experience from start (booking) to finish (going on the trip). This will include tips on booking excursions, getting the best rates, packing tips, and more.

If you want to see some of the videos we’ve done with Viking in the past, we’ll post one below for your viewing pleasure. However, you can also visit our Grand European Tour, Mediterranean Odyssey, and Rhine Getaway Viking playlists on YouTube.

OCTOBER

Once we get back from our amazing cruise, we’ll have a week or so to unpack and wash clothes before we leave for a family trip in the Tennessee mountains.

This is not an official work trip, but you better believe we’ll be capturing amazing memories to share with you!

We’ll be staying in a cabin, in the woods, and soaking up every moment of the changing leaves in one of our favorite states!

No, this isn’t Tennessee, it’s France. But it does show the gorgeous fall leaves!

Those are the big trips we have planned for the year! We’re still putting together final plans for November and December, but if you follow our socials, you’ll always be up to date.

To address one of the questions we get all of the time… how do you afford all of this? Great question. Personal question, but great question.

Most of our trips are comped, which means the B&Bs, restaurants, cruise lines, etc. cover the cost. If that weren’t the case, we wouldn’t be able to do all of these amazing things. As of right now, we’re not always compensated monetarily for things we do. So the content we create is largely paid for through bartering. That’s something we’re so grateful for, but, at the same time, we’re excited for the day that our efforts are compensated for in a way that pays the bills.

Some of you ask if there’s any way you can help. Yes, there is! You can become a Patron and give a monetary amount to us monthly for some special perks. Or, if you’re not interested in a monthly contribution, you can “tip” us any amount for videos or blog posts you really like via PayPal or Venmo. Or if you’re not able to contribute monetarily, following us and loving our content is HUGE in moving us toward a more financially stable future. So just you reading this post right now is major. Want to help even more? Share it with your friends!

Just know that as a follower or “fan” of our work, we love you and appreciate you so much! Thanks for following this crazy journey.
