Appalachian Brewing Company has six locations, with the flag ship location being the first brewery in the Pennsylvania state capital since 1951. We ate at their Lititz location and fell in love.
They create hand crafted ales and lagers and serve delicious, creative food to match. We’re not talking about your typical bar food. But scratch made perfection like tater tots and pierogies.
Y’all! The people were so kind and the food... the food was out of this world.
We started with the homemade tater tots.
It starts like your classic tot, shredded potatoes. Then they mix it with bacon, cheddar jack cheese, and fresh scallions. They fry them up to perfection and they’re unlike any tater tots we’ve ever had.
They’re also served with everybody’s favorite, ranch, for dipping.
Joanie B. Had the pierogies and beer brats.
It’s grilled, mountain lager steeped bratwurst with cheese stuffed pierogies topped with carmelized onions and served with a side of fries and Brewhaus mustard.
The brats were perfectly cooked and were so tasty with that mustard. The pierogies were cheesy and delicious, just like they’re meant to be.
Jenni B. dove into the brewers mac and cheese with blackened chicken.
Traditionally it’s a five-cheese blend with bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, and penne pasta topped with bread crumbs. She said hold the bleu cheese, and it was perfectly cheesy and delicious.
It was just a really yummy plate of pasta and the chicken was the perfect addition.
We couldn’t stop there, because dessert was calling our name.
We scoured the menu and had to go with the homemade peanut butter pie.
Holly nutter butter! It’s peanut butter moose on a chocolate cookie crust topped with chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups and a chocolate drizzle.
Jenni doesn’t really love peanut butter, but she thought it was heavenly.
ABC is so popular that they have what’s called the mug club.
For about $50 a month you get a personalized Appalachian Brewing Company mug club mug that’s specially designed every year.
You get a 10% off mug club discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages, 20% off retail purchases, previews of speciality beers, access to the annual mug club party, and 1/2 price apps on the weekly mugger day.
If you’re part of the mug club, your benefits are good at all six ABC locations.
We had the best time at Appalachian Brewing Company. Thank you so much to ABC for having us.
