Where to Stay in Durham, North Carolina || Arrowhead Inn Bed and Breakfast
On our incredible trip to the Bull City sponsored by Discover Durham, we had the pleasure of staying at the Arrowhead Inn Bed and Breakfast.
Check out this video…
Arrowhead is about fifteen minutes outside of downtown Durham, making it the perfect retreat from the city.
It was built in 1775 and is the only Select Registry and Four Diamond property in the triangle cities, which are Durham, Raleigh, and Chapel Hill.
The B&B sits on six acres and has been renovated to feel like an upscale hotel. They’ve really accomplished that with their Whirlpool tubs, beautiful steam showers, and fireplaces. You also have access to free Wifi and TVs in all of the rooms.
Arrowhead has seven rooms plus the Garden Cottage and Carolina Log Cabin.
In addition there are several common areas inside and outside the B&B where you can relax and recharge.
We stayed in the Montclair room, which is on the second floor.
Some of its highlights are the rainforest shower, closet, mini fridge, gas fireplace, and adorable blue French toile wall paper. The room gets plenty of natural light to help you drag yourself from the cozy King size bed.
Since we visited Durham in the summer we didn’t make much use of the gas fireplace, but the closet was a game-changer. It gave us somewhere to put our luggage so we could actually enjoy the happy blue room.
The dining room has two sections where you can sit and enjoy breakfast. We chose to sit in the courtyard dining area, because it felt like an inside-outside dining experience.
We had a full itinerary provided to us by Discover Durham, so we only enjoyed one breakfast Arrowhead. It’s served between eight and nine each morning. The three-course meal is prepared by the in-house chef and served to you like you’re at a restaurant.
Our breakfast started with a yummy coffee cake and fresh fruit. For our main course we had shirred eggs with asparagus served with a maple apple sausage.
Arrowhead is a great stop for you if you’re in the Durham area. It has a very upscale feel from the moment you walk through the door, and you’ll be living in the lap of luxury while you’re there.
A very special thank you to Arrowhead Inn for hosting us on our trip and to Discover Durham for sponsoring the adventure.
