Essential Jewelry Pieces for Travel

We’ve never claimed to be fashion bloggers, but as ladies who travel, we have to know a thing or two about how to put together an outfit that’s easy to pack.

We’ve shared some of our favorite clothing pieces on our YouTube channel, and we’ll do a blog post in the future about our go-to outfits for each season of travel. For this post, however, we’re going to be breaking down our essential jewelry pieces for travel.

One thing to note is that when we do plane travel, we travel carry-on only, so this is a small list of essential pieces that can go with all of our outfits and easily transition from day to night.

Here’s a video of us unboxing some of our new favorites:

SIMPLE HOOPS

A pair of simple, solid hoops is a must for us. These are perfect for jazzing up a casual outfit, setting off a fancy outfit, or just something to make you feel more put together on those crazy travel days.

We each have solid silver and solid gold hoops that we love. Since we both have two ear piercings, we pair our cute hoops with either diamond or matching metal studs.

These are the Companions hoops that we have. They only come in silver, but we each have a similar pair in gold. They’re $29 and you can buy them here.

SIMPLE STUDS

We mentioned above that we both have double piercings in our ears, so we match our hoops with studs up top. However, we also like to have a stud option for our bottom piercing.

Sure, you can go crazy with the studs and get something like a Betsy Johnson stud, but we like to keep our ears pretty simple. Maybe a solitaire or a solid metal. Just something that adds a little bit of interest to the ear but doesn’t distract from the rest of our look.

Here are a couple great options:

These are the Button Up faux pearl earrings and at $14, they’re a great edition to your jewelry collection! You can buy them here.

LONG STATEMENT NECKLACE

As you’ve probably seen if you follow us on Facebook or Instagram, when we travel, we bring a lot of basic tops. This has been the easiest way to us to maximize our outfit options since we only bring a carry-on. The more simple, solid colored tops we have, the more outfits we can put together on the fly.

But since the tops are so simple, we need some excitement in our style, which is where the long statement necklace comes in.

The longer length helps create a line and slims our figure since most of our shirts are flowy. The statement is what brings the jazz for the outfit.

Which statement necklace we bring depends on the trip, the season, and how we’re feeling when we’re packing, so we’ll link a few of our faves.

This is one of our newer pieces. It’s called Pacific Coast and it adds just enough razzle dazzle to any outfit with its multiple colors and textures. And at 32” with a 4” extender, it’s a great length. You can buy it here for $54.

This is the Cashmere set that we’re in love with! It has three separate necklaces that can be worn together or separately and the smallest one is elastic and can even be worn as a bracelet. You can buy it here for $64.

This is another three-in-one necklace option called Upper Level. It’s simple and perfect if you’re not into all of the crazy sparkle or busy jewelry. You can buy it here for $44.

VERSATILE BRACELET

Bracelets are one of those accessories we don’t always want to wear, which is okay! However, we like to bring at least one with us on our trips just in case we want to spice up an outfit for dinner or an event. So to prevent from serious FOMO without a bracelet and to prevent overpacking, we always bring a bracelet on our trips.

We like something that’s simple but still cute and fashionable. We also like to keep it versatile so that we can pair our one bracelet with a bunch of different outfits for all different occasions.

Here are a few of our favorites right now:

The Chameleon is a new edition to our collection and we love it! The bangle comes in silver and gold (for $44) plus you can get fun inserts to change up the look of the bracelet. This is a great option for bigger wrists, but since there is no closure, it can be hard to fit properly on small wrists.

Joanie B. has the Illusion and it’s adorable! This one has the opposite fit problem as Chameleon. It’s tricky if you have bigger hands (because it slides on) but it’s perfect for smaller wrists. You can buy it here for $29.

Bands of Gold is a great option if you want something versatile. It’s four separate bracelets that can be worn together or individually. This is great to maximize each piece for a smaller collection while traveling. You can buy it here for $49.

STATEMENT RING (or not)

A ring is another one of those accessories like a bracelet. More often than not, we don’t want to be wearing one, but when we want one we REALLY want it. So since this is the tiniest of tiny jewelry items, we always pack one just in case.

We say statement (or not) because one of our favorite rings isn’t exactly a statement, but it’s something that makes us feel put together and super cute, so it’s a statement for us!

Here are a few of our favorite ring purchases:

Forget Me Not is a great simple ring option that comes in silver and gold. You can buy it here for $39.
