Three Ways to Find Peace in the Pandemic [as told by Travel Bloggers]

It’s safe to say that we’re all overwhelmed and completely over this pandemic. We’re right there with you.

Not sure about you, but we’ve gone through so many phases during this dramatic time. We started with denial, which quickly turned to fear. That fear morphed into a short stay of acceptance and then bounced around restlessness to frustration. Now we’ve just settled into a calm state of done-ness.

We’re ready for this to be over and for life to be “normal” again.

We had an incredible trip planned for June complete with two amusements parks, amazing B&Bs, and a family reunion. Over the course of the last few weeks we have watched those travel plans crumble.

This brings us to the point of this post… how do you find peace in this pandemic?

Here are three ways we’ve found helpful.

#1 - TAKE TIME

Take time to relax and breathe.

In our “normal” lives we’re so inundated with work and social media and a social life and everything is constantly coming at us at once. That’s our normal.

Take this pandemic as an opportunity to really breathe and really feel what life is like without all of the craziness of “normal”.

Also take time to feel all of the feelings. Like we said at the beginning, we’ve gone through many, many emotions during these last several weeks. We’ve been sad, afraid, angry, happy, excited, and more! Take time to feel those feelings. Don’t push them aside. Don’t dismiss them. Feel them. Understand them. Accept them.

#2 - TRY NEW THINGS

When we’re stuck in our typical routines, it’s easy to do the same things over and over again. We’re guilty of this! We film, edit, post, and repeat on most of our days. There are very few hours when we’re separated from our computers.

We’ve taken this pandemic time to try some new things. We’ve taken a few Masterclasses, cooked new foods, drawn and colored, and gone on mini adventures in our car. Without this unprecedented time, we wouldn’t be able to do these things.

You never know! You could discover a new hobby and passion all thanks to COVID-19.

We’ve even tried out a new nail product. Check out the video:

#3 - SPEND TIME WITH FAMILY

Normally it’s the Joanie and Jenni B. show in our house while Papa B. is off at work. However, we’ve all three been held up at home during this pandemic and WHOA MAN it’s been a time!

At first it was frustrating and confusing to all be home 24/7. We were upset with each other, annoyed all of the time, and unsure about what the future would hold.

But then we gave in to the challenge.

Now we’re laughing more than ever before. We’re communicating better than we have in years. We genuinely enjoy each others’ presence, which is something so unexpected that came from this adventure.

If you’re able, take this time to spend with your family. It’s easy to take their presence for granted on the normal days. So take this time at home to appreciate your loved ones. Reacquaint yourself with that makes them special and unique. Learn to communicate again. Enjoy a meal together. Just spend time being family.

This has been a great way to process through the emotions of COVID-19, and we’re very grateful for this time together as a family.
