Where to stay in Greenville, South Carolina || Swamp Rabbit Inn

When deciding where to stay in Greenville, we scoured the Internet for recommendations. After sifting through hotels that were too far away, too generic and too expensive, we found the cutest B+B right in the heart of the city.

Swamp Rabbit Inn.

Named after the Swamp Rabbit Trail, this quaint bed and breakfast had everything we were looking for (not to mention some bonuses we weren’t expecting).

Swamp Rabbit has six rooms, all unique and adorable! It’s located downtown in Greenville’s West End. Usually a downtown location equals painful parking, but not here! Parking is safe and plentiful.

We only rented out one room and you can choose to do the same or you can rent the entire house. Perfect for a girls’ trip, family reunion or friends’ getaway. In addition to the bedrooms, Swamp Rabbit has a community kitchen, dining room and living room. Everyone will be happy and comfortable.

It was pretty chilly in March, so we didn’t make use of the beautiful front porch or back deck, but they were there and perfect for entertaining.

Greenville has some of the most incredible trails in the South, one of them being the Inn’s namesake, Swamp Rabbit. The owner, Wendy, took that into consideration and created the Swamp Rabbit Bike Shed. You can rent bikes for one or multiple days of your stay and see the city on two wheels.

If you know us, you know we’re all about a clean room. Swamp Rabbit exceeded our expectations in every way! Our room, Deux Hiboux, was spacious, beautifully decorated and immaculate! Everything from the linens to the bathroom to the bench and coffee station was spotless. We felt comfortable and right at home.

Something to note is that you are generally alone on the property. It’s a bed and breakfast so there’s no front desk or concierge there to assist you. Upon booking your stay, you’ll receive detailed check-in instructions, which include the digital code for the front, back and bedroom doors. Everything was simple and smooth and the privacy was perfect for us.

We liked the freedom of coming and going as if we were staying in our own home. It made everything feel more comfortable and relaxed. However, if you have any questions or concerns, an email and phone number is provided when you check in.

There are not enough words to express how incredible the Swamp Rabbit Inn truly is. Everything from the decorations to the ambiance, location and privacy was amazing. We had the best time in Greenville and loved coming back to our Two Owls room every night.
