Best Brunch in Greenville || Biscuit Head
Brunch is not just a meal. It’s a way of life. So, I beg of you, put aside the eggs and burnt bacon. Instead, take a trip to Greenville and visit Biscuit Head.
I feel like I should premise this by saying, I’m not a breakfast person or a brunch person, but Biscuit Head hits a new level.
The biscuits are fresh and scratch-made. Normally this is where I’d say, “but it’s a secret recipe.” Plot twist! Biscuit Head has included that recipe along with others in their cookbook. They want their customers happy and full even when they can’t make it in to their Asheville or Greenville locations.
We told Jessica, Biscuit Head Greenville’s General Manager, to surprise us with any biscuit she wanted us to try. She certainly brought her A-game because we arrived to a pulled pork biscuit and a mimosa fried chicken biscuit.
Let me say that again… pulled pork and mimosa fried chicken.
Yeah, my mouth’s watering too!
The pulled pork was my favorite, because it was perfectly tender and balanced between savory and sweet. The biscuit was pure perfection and that pulled pork blew my mind! It was topped with a jalapeño pimento cheese, a poached egg, bacon and maple syrup. So if salty, sweet and tangy is your jam, then get the pulled pork biscuit!
Speaking of jam… did I mention they have a fully stocked jam bar complete with your average jams, butters and custom Biscuit Head creations? Yeah… it’s awesome.
Joanie B. loved the mimosa fried chicken! Once again, the biscuit was perfect in every way. The chicken is marinated in, you guessed it, mimosa and then fried to golden brown perfection! It also has a creamy sweet potato butter, sriacha slaw and poached egg on top.
We finished the meal off with some of their sweet biscuit donuts with lemon curd. I was skeptical about how the sugar would pair with the lemon, but… HOLY. MOLY. It was perfect in every way. The sweet paired with the subtle bitterness and brightness of the lemon sent the whole dish into another dimension.
Everything from the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant to the food left us wanting more! We can’t wait to go back to the Greenville and Asheville locations and eat some more delicious Biscuit Head creations.
