Family Friendly Accommodations in Stanford, Kentucky || The Inn at Wilderness Road Guest Houses
While we were in Stanford we had the chance to stay in an awesome guest house. It would be great for a small family or maybe two couples on a vacation. They’re called the Inn at Wilderness Road Guest Houses and we stayed in one known as ‘the little red house’.
Check this out…
Inside Whitley Cottage we were greeted with a cozy living area. There’s a chair right beside the door and a great couch that actually pulls into a Queen size bed.
The wall space is taken up with bookshelves containing books of various genres, movies, and games for the entire family to enjoy. You’ll also find a gas-log fireplace that just made the whole experience homier.
Inside what looks like a dresser there’s a great TV where we binged Hallmark Christmas movies for a lot of our stay. What more could you ask for?
Just outside of the living area is the first Whitley Cottage bedroom. It’s the smaller of the two, but a great size for the Queen bed, comfy chair, and dresser.
The bathroom is split. In a small room with pocket door is the toilet and shower. The sink is located just outside the bathroom in the bedroom. It was great for dancing around while doing our makeup.
In the hallway there is a closet with a convenient stacked washer and dryer (plus detergent and fabric softener sheets!).
Across from the closet is the perfect kitchen. Upon first glance it seems pretty average, but when you dive in you see how incredibly well every inch of space was used. The appliances are full size, but counter space is limited. So naturally you’ll find the microwave in the cabinet (we loved that!).
Wilderness Road Hospitality has thought of everything. So you have cups, dishes, utensils, pots, pans, coffee, two coffee makers, creamer, and more. With the coffee you even have a choice between whole bean and K-cups (bean grinder provided). All you need to supply are the snacks and you’re all set.
Finishing off the cottage, down the hall, is the larger bedroom. The bathroom is just outside the door and it has a larger vanity, toilet, and a great size shower.
The bedroom has a gas-log fireplace, comfy King-size bed, and a chair where you can cuddle up and read some of the awesome books on the bookshelf.
Whitley Cottage is one of five guest houses that the Inn at Wilderness Road offers. The others have similar layouts and amenities, but still have their own unique flair. You can visit their website to find out which cottage may be the best option for you.
We loved the little red house so much we talked about moving in, which was, unfortunately, not an option for many reasons. But that should tell you just how much we loved our time. It was also positioned perfectly within walking distance to all of our activities. That made it easy to enjoy dinner at Bluebird, spa treatments at Esther’s Wellhouse, and some awesome shopping at 4 Generations, Morgan’s on Main, and Kentucky Soaps and Such.
Thank you to Wilderness Road Hospitality for sponsoring our trip to Stanford, and making all fo this possible. We were honored to capture your town and the people in it.
